The location was nondescript but certain clues made it easy to find. Perhaps the most prominent was the seven or so collector urchins littered with shells, perhaps strewn about by the octopus after meals.. About Me I was born and raised along the banks of the Jersey Shore’s Navesink River. The river was and remains a source of great inspiration for me - a place where human communities have flourished in tandem with nature for centuries. My adult life has been spent traveling across the world working as a naturalist, photographer, lecturer, and environmental educator.
